The World AeroPress Championship started with one simple goal: brew a better cup of coffee. Like many great ideas, it caught on. Fast. These days, it’s a full-blown global phenomenon, with over 175 events in 60+ countries and more than 5,000 plungers getting involved each season.

Despite the numbers, it’s still one of the most delightfully low-stakes, high-energy comps out there. No gatekeeping. No glittery trophy cases. Just good coffee, good people, and a little bit of controlled chaos.
We’ve been global sponsors of WAC for over eight years because we love what it stands for: community, creativity, caffeine. So when no one hosted the NZ heats last year, we did what any concerned coffee citizens would do...panicked slightly, then put our hands up to host!
This year, we’ve brought the comp home to Wellington; our turf, and (yes, we’re saying it) the coffee capital of Aotearoa. We’re excited to show it off with a comp that brings everyone together—brewers, baristas, drinkers, dabblers—and reminds us why we love this industry.
